About Us

Grupo Profármaco is an innovative international group of Spanish origin, specialised in marketing pharmaceutical products in the area of Central America and the Caribbean. It manages Regulatory Affairs –health and brands -, Market Research, Marketing, Promotion, Sales Network and Distribution through its own subsidiaries.

Profármaco S.A., the parent company, was founded in 1990 in Barcelona (Spain). At present, Grupo Profármaco consists of seven additional companies (called Mercantil Farmacéutica S.A., "Mefasa") with registered offices in San José de Costa Rica, Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic, San Salvador in El Salvador, Guatemala City in Guatemala, Tegucigalpa in Honduras, Managua in Nicaragua and Panama City in Panama.

Our sales network, which has a major presence in the area, consists of 130 pharmaceutical representatives and salespersons, the majority of whom have Health Science degrees. Together with our staff in Marketing, Information Technology, Administration, Finances, Logistics, Distribution etc., they account for a human group that already stands at over 200 professionals.

We aim to meet the needs of the laboratories we represent, helping them to become firmly established and grow on the Central American and Dominican pharmaceutical market, following our company mission, which is based in the service provided, team work, ongoing training, open communication and transparency. The results of our mission are reflected in the trust that renowned pharmaceutical multinationals place in us.
